Step 1: Register with Weebly
First of all, you will have to register yourself at www.weebly.com. It is absolutely free of cost and you just need to fill in your full name, E-mail and password and some other few basic details. Once you are registered you will use these details to login to Weebly.
STEP 2: LET’S GET STARTED !
Once you have successfully login, you will be asked to choose from three options – website, blog or store. Choose the one which will apply most to your idea and which will suit the best to your needs. On choosing any of the three, you will certainly find numerous features to explore and experiment and make your site better and more professional.
STEP 3: CUSTOMIZATION
After doing all this, you can now go to the “Theme” tab on the top of the page to choose from a huge pre-defined collection. Whichever theme suits your site the best, select it by hitting the orange “Choose” button. Further, in this theme section, you can also choose different styles and colors by clicking the “All Styles” and “All Colors” tab on the top of the page.
STEP 4: DECIDING A SUB-DOMAIN FOR YOUR SITE
This is the most essential step because this is where the people will find you. Sub-domain starts with the title of your website name and ends at weebly.com and the ending is justified also since it is a free service and you never had to buy any server or hosting services with it. But if you want to make your site more professional and more searchable on net try to register for your own domain name and hosting server. STEP 4: DESIGN AND EDIT YOUR WEBSITE
There are certain elements provides on the left side of the page that can be dragged on to the main page to add them in the website. If you are good with HTML, you can further, spice up your pages to look more crisp and fresh. Also, editing the title of the page is not much of a hassle. You just need to click the “My Site” on the top of the page and it will be selected so that you can rename or modify it. Further, you can also change the main image. Just hover your pointer over the image and you will see an “Edit image” option will appear. By using this option, you can easily upload any image file from your computer. As an alternative, you can also drag the image on to the box to upload it as the main image. Once the image gets uploaded, there are many basic features like crop, rotate, opacity, fade and effects that you can apply to modify the picture according to your style and eye.
STEP 5: ADD PAGES
After this, you can add the pages to your site by clicking the “Add page” option from “Pages” tab on the main editing screen. Depending on your needs, you can choose any of the four – Standard Page, Blog Page, Store Page, and External Link. Just add the page, edit and save. And this way many other pages can be added to your site.
STEP 6 (OPTIONAL): MOBILE VERSION
This is the best flexibility offered by Weebly. While building your site you can click the mobile icon near the publish button to check exactly how it will look on a mobile screen. This is a great option if your sites are mobile focused because time to time you can check if the design, fonts or colors are doing well with the mobile screen size or not.
STEP 7: PUBLISH
Once you are done with all the editing and modifying, you can click the “Publish” button which will make your site go public.
Best thing of this feature is that you can edit your site even after publishing it. For this, you need to type “www.weebly.com/weebly/userHome.php” and if you are logged out you will be asked to verify your account details. After verification, you can easily see all your sites under “My Sites” section. Pick the one you want to edit, make changes and save!
